Olon Ecuador

I remember when we told people we were planning to move to Ecuador, the first response was WHY ECUADOR?

After living here for a month we can honestly say WHY NOT ECUADOR.

The People are awesome and will do anything to make you feel welcome. The weather has been amazing as well.

The food is out of this world delicious, and the presentation of the food is amazing. They say the presentation of the food is so important and the restaurants here have gone above to make your food look amazing and taste great.

Finally Made it Ecuador

WOW what a journey it was to get to Ecuador. My husband and I are finally here and can’t be more happy about it. The journey sure was a journey.

We began planning the trip months before the date. Selling our Florida home and certifying our dog to travel to another country. That in itself was trying. They must be certified by a USDA Veterinary and then be sent to be verified by the USDA ( United States Department of Agriculture) to then be sent off to Ecuador to be verified. First Ava did not have a vaccine that was…

What is International Women’s Day? It is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. … celebrate women’s achievements. raise awareness about women’s equality. ~( copied from google)

Today, for me is a day that we can all celebrate all women and what it means to raise young girls into strong independent women. Women who can conquer all their dreams and fight through their struggle in careers that are predominantly a male driven career.

Women can break barriers and ceilings. We are seeing…

When we decided to live abroad we had many things to consider. The biggest one was this, the right decision for us as a couple. How do you know if it’s the right thing for you?

We first had to decide what we really wanted to do, as this is not an easy thing to do. Packing up your life and moving. We had to decide if the lifestyle is what we wanted. Living away from family, and the comforts of what you are used to. This would mean selling homes, vehicles and all of your belongings.

This is a…

So you have made the decision to move abroad. Now What?

The first thing that went through my mind was OMG NOW What. That is when fear struck. All the questions ran through my mind. Where To? How? and When? As well The language barrier.

Where To? We had been looking into other countries, like Costa Rica, Mexico and The Virgin Islands. Then we fell upon Olon Ecuador.

How? Well we knew we had to Fly once we made our decision to move to Ecuador.

When? Well we needed to sell property and vehicles to be able to do this…

A Flight Away

My husband and I have been living six months away from family and friends for two years now and we are getting ready to live further away very soon. I’m very close to my family and I wondered how it would be, being so far away from them. Thank goodness for the Internet and being able to see them on video.

Do I miss seeing them in person of course I do, but being able to see them on video is what helps the most. People can text and call but seeing people’s faces sure helps a lot. When we…

If I could send a letter back in time, I would send it to my sixteen year old self. I would make sure she knew that there is no reason to worry or fret over the little things that are going on in her life at that time.

Dear Beautiful Young Lady:

I’m writing to you from the future, I want you to know that you will be ok, that things will work out in the end, how do I know this? Because I’m you but I’m now 48 years old in a couple of days. All the things your…

I’m a person who crosses every T and dots every I. I need to know that things are going to go well. Not perfect but well. Let me tell you, I have learned a huge lesson the last couple of days. It does not matter what you think you know or how much you research or how much you think you have it in the bag. Life has another lesson for you.

We are planning a huge trip and we need curtain papers to be just right for our dog, who will be travelling with us. These papers and all…

Ava’s wheels for a much easier Airport experience.

I’m a person who loves to travel and I love to be able to still travel even though I have a very small Yorkie Chihuahua Mix (Chorkie). When I looked into getting a dog 5 years ago I wanted to get a small lap dog that I would be able to travel with and one that allows me to be more free in doing so.

Ava has been travelling with me via airplanes since she was a few months old. Her very first trip was to see my dad and step mom in Newfoundland, Canada. We travelled from Toronto to…

Seeking Beaches and Sunset Adventures What is it that Draws me to the Beach

I have always loved the beach, it’s where I find I relax the most. The many different colors of blue of the ocean and sky, draws you in. Listening to the waves is soothing to me.

The salt air breeze the warmth of the sun, the sand between your toes and under your feet. Grounds me to be in that moment. It is meditation for me. I have done some very deep thinking on the beaches of the Caribbean Islands that I have been to. In order to make deep decisions your mind needs to be clear and this is…
